This photograph of a probably newly married, Ouled Naïl Algerian girl was taken (by Lehnert and Landrock) in 1905. Algeria sits at the crossroads of the Arab, Mediterranean and African worlds and the majesty of its aesthetic (according to the Algerian embassy website) is partly owing to its interesting location.
